Aam Aadmi again, Arvind Kejriwal and cabinet resign over jan lokpal bill

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal resigned on Friday after failing to table the jan lokpal bill, which was defeated in the introduction stage itself.

Kejriwal announced his decision around 8.15pm, ending his Aam Aadmi Party government’s 49-day run in power.

After a tumultuous day in the assembly, Kejriwal told supporters that the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata
Party had “colluded” against the bill meant to fight corruption after his government ordered filing of an FIR against Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani.

He had made the same charge in the House as well.
